The Head Center governs inspiration and mental pressure. Physiologically it is directly linked to the pineal gland. If this center is “defined” (that is, filled in), the person has their own source of inspiration. An “open” (unfilled) center gives its owner the freedom to choose their sources of inspiration for themselves.

The Ajna Center governs the processing and analysis of information. It is linked to the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. A person with a defined Ajna processes information in a fixed way — for example by sorting it logically into place, or by working sequentially through every possible option. If the center is open, the person is free to choose how they analyse and process information.

The Throat Center is self-expression through action and speech. It is linked to the parathyroid and thyroid glands. It also governs metabolism. An “open” center expresses itself variably — it often speaks in other people's words. A “defined” Throat Center inclines a person towards expressing themselves in one particular way, for example through social activity or through creative work.

The G Center governs love, direction in life and self-identity. Biologically it is linked to the blood and the liver. If a person's G Center is “defined”, their own sense of “I” is usually fixed, and they have a definite way of coming to know themselves. People whose center is “open” come to their Love and their Direction through other people who have it defined. The main rule that applies to an open center is this: “If you are in the right place, you are among the right people”.

The Heart Center is ego, willpower, self-worth and material values. It is linked to the gallbladder, the thymus, the stomach and the heart muscle. If your Heart Center is defined, you can make promises — and you must keep them. Your will is strong, and suppressing it can make you ill. A person whose center is “open” has a good understanding of the potential of willpower, but should avoid making firm promises, since some irresistible force or circumstance may get in the way.

The Sacral Center is sexuality, vitality, persistence and capacity for work. It is linked to the testes in men and the ovaries in women. In people with an “open” center the life force is not constant, and they never know when they have had enough (of work, of sex, of food). Most people on this planet have a “defined” center and a constant, steady source of life force. For them it is essential to spend that energy during the day, or they may have trouble sleeping.

The Splenic Center governs intuition, survival instincts, health and fear. Biologically it is linked to the immune and lymphatic systems. People with a “defined” Spleen enjoy good health and can even pass their sense of wellbeing on to those around them without meaning to. If this center is “open” for you, you need to look after your health and try not to act on impulse. It is also worth paying attention to your fears and working through them where you can.

The Solar Plexus Center governs emotionality, passion and sensitivity. It is linked to the pancreas, the kidneys and the nervous system. An “open” center lets people feel the moods and emotions of those around them keenly, simply by being near them, while on their own they remain calm. People with a “defined” center usually experience mood swings that come in waves. For such a person it is very important not to make serious decisions in haste. The rule to follow is “sleep on it”.

The Root Center governs physical pressure. It is linked to the adrenal glands, which produce adrenaline. People with a “defined” Root Center are often called restless: energy, drive and adrenaline seethe in them, along with the urge to do everything faster, harder, more. People with an “open” center are often in a hurry and do everything under pressure, because they take on the stress and pressure of others.
